For the booth, the edit bay and the machine room
Every machine in the room, from any one of them.
The Boring Remote lets your Macs and PCs control each other. It runs on your own network. No account with us, no monthly fee.
From $99 Updates included.

Why is the remote tool the hard part?
Today
Most remote tools want an account, a monthly seat and their servers in the middle. That's a lot of setup just to fix a slide on the graphics Mac from the booth.
With The Boring Remote
It connects the machines on your network straight to each other. Install it and they show up. Click one.
How does it work?
- 01
Install it on each machine
One line in Terminal on a Mac, or in PowerShell on Windows. Run the same line again later and it updates.
- 02
They find each other
Machines on the same network show up on the app's Home screen by themselves. You can also type an IP address or a Tailscale name.
- 03
Click one and take over
The first time a computer connects, the other one asks you to allow it. After that it's trusted, so you can reach it when nobody's sitting there.

What does The Boring Remote cost?
Questions
What do I need to run it?
An Apple silicon Mac, or a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 PC. The machines need to be on the same network, or on the same Tailscale tailnet.
Do I need an account?
Not with us. There's nothing to sign up for and no server of ours in the middle. To reach a machine outside your network you'd use Tailscale, and that has its own account.
Can someone else connect to my machine?
Only computers on your network or your tailnet can reach it, and a new computer has to be allowed the first time. You can remove a trusted computer any time in Settings.
Can I reach a machine nobody is sitting at?
Yes. Once a computer is allowed, it can connect without anyone at the other end. That's the point.
Can I move files between machines?
Yes. Click Transfer files next to any machine on Home. You get both machines' folders side by side, and you don't have to open a screen session first.
How many machines can I put it on?
$99 covers 5 of your machines. $499 covers 30. Need more than that, or want someone to walk your network with you? The System Assessment is $1,500 and includes a 60-minute network walkthrough. Write to [email protected].
Is it based on open source?
Yes. It's built on open-source code under the AGPL, and the source for this version is at boringlabs.online/remote/source/. What you're paying for is a working install, updates and someone to write to.
How do updates work?
Run the same install line again, or wait for the app to tell you a new version is out. Updates are free.
What if it doesn't work on my machines?
Write to us within 30 days. We'll fix it, or refund you.
What happens after I buy?
Stripe sends the receipt. The download, your license key and the one-line install steps follow by email a few minutes later. Stuck? Reply to that email.
Put it on every machine in the room.
$99 once for 5 machines, or $499 once for 30. No subscription, no account with us, and updates are free. Won't work on your machines? Write to us within 30 days and we fix it or refund you.
